Country’s Top-Ranked High School Talent Coming To Eastern States Indoor Championships; Armory Foundation to Honor Dr. Norbert Sander Jr. With Stan Saplin Media AwardPublished by
The 84th Annual Eastern States Indoor Championships will take place Tuesday (February 20) at The Armory New Balance Track & Field Center in Washington Heights. The top high school track & field student-athletes along the East Coast will be competing, including the country’s top girls high jump performer, Jenna Rogers of Rutherford, N.J., and the nation’s No. 1 in the shot put, Shelby Bigsby of Montclair, N.J. The Armory Foundation will have a ceremony to honor its late Founder and President, Dr. Norbert Sander Jr. with the Stan Saplin Media award. Top female student-athletes: Lydia Olivere, Padua (DE) – US#5 3000 meters. Running the mile, Jenna Rogers, Rutherford (NJ) – US#1 High Jump, 2018 NYRR Millrose Games Participant in Pro High Jump. Abby Norwillo, Pittston (PA) – US#9 Pole Vault. Shelby Bigsby, Montclair (NJ) – US#1 Shot Put. Top male student-athletes: Akeem Lindo, East Orange (NJ) – US#7 55 meters. Also running the 400 meters. Frank Royal, St Christopher’s (VA) – US#2 Long Jump. Charles Crispi, Monsignor Farrell (NY) – US#11 Pole Vault. CJ Licata, Gill St Bernard (NJ) – US#4 Shot Put. WHEN: The Eastern States Indoor Championships will take place from 4 p.m.-11 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20.
