Yashahya Brown Beats Jordon Quinn In Elite Hurdles Showdown At The Armory By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor John Nepolitan Photos Yashahya Brown of Washington Township NJ, the US leader in the 55-meter hurdles with 7.06 seconds, won the Eastern States title in the event on Tuesday at The Armory in New York in 7.10. Jordon Quinn of Freeport NY ran a personal best at US#3 7.27 to place second in the race. Several teams improved their standing in the distance medley relay for the upcoming national meets. Brenden McMahon anchored the Ridge NJ boys to US#3 in the DMR with a winning time of 10:10.73. New Jersey teams now hold the top four times in the country in the event. Brooklyn Tech was second with US#5 10:17.60. Cherokee of New Jersey ran US#8 12:16.72 to win the girls DMR and beat Shenendehowa Central NY, which was second with US#10 12:22.75. Jaden Marchan from Leonia NJ won the boys 200 meters in a personal best time of 21.55 seconds. Ridgefield senior Steven Hergenother matched the US#10 time in the 800 meters as he won the event in 1:53.24. |
